Course Brief
This three-day workshop has been specially designed for those who are relatively new to narrative therapy and who are interested in exploring some of its key ideas and practices. It will introduce participants to a number of topics including:
- Key ideas that inform narrative practices.
- Conversations that externalise and contextualise problems.
- Richly describing stories that sustain and strengthen people and communities.
- Countering isolation through re-membering conversations.
- Engaging audiences and documenting preferred stories.
The workshop will be a mixture of a presentation of theory, sharing practice examples and discussion in small groups. Opportunities will be provided for participants to begin to develop their own skills in narrative practice through training exercises. There will also be time set aside for questions as well as opportunities for participants to relate their learning to their own contexts.
